The procedure of an MRI examination

Preparation

We want to make your MRI examination as comfortable as possible for you. First of all, you will have an explanatory consultation. In this part all details of the examination will be explained to you, and you will have time to clarify any open questions. If you suffer from claustrophobia, for example, you can bring a companion to the examination or be given a mild sedative. Children may of course be accompanied by a parent.

The examination procedure

In the preparation room, you will be placed on the examination table and, if necessary, you will be given a signal-receiving coil around the area of the body to be examined. You will then be taken to the examination room where the magnetic resonance imaging, short for MRI, is located. Since the examination makes loud noises, you will also be offered earplugs and headphones for your comfort.

During the entire examination the medneo staff is in visual and verbal contact with you. You are also given an emergency alert bell in case you should feel unwell during the process. The examination usually takes 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the body region.

Images and findings

You will receive the recorded images on a DVD after your examination. The report will be sent to your referring doctor upon completion. If desired, you can have the findings sent as an encrypted file to your personal e-mail. You can then discuss your findings and images in detail with your doctor.

Do you have any questions regarding the dispatch of your findings? Please send a mail to befund@medneo.com.
