Full Heart Power Ahead with PD Dr. med. Henning Steen
60 minutes, over 200 participants, 2 experts: At the beginning of February, medneos Head of Cardiac Imaging Priv. Doz. Henning Steen, MD, was a guest at the symposium of the 13th German Cardiodiagnostics Days (Leipzig). Dr. Steen gave an exciting lecture on the relevance of magnetic resonance imaging of the heart (cardiac MRI). Together with the previous speaker, Priv. Doz. Dr. Felix Meinel (Specialist for radiology, University Hospital Rostock) who has been working intensively on the forward-looking topic of artificial intelligence in cardiac imaging, Steen inspired with his presentation on how to approach the care gap of Cardiac-MRI examination.
One solution approach medneo is pursuing in cooperation with Circle CVI is called CMR-as-a-Service. The diagnostic offering around Cardiac MRI faces some challenges, such as limited access and low numbers of experts. As an expert in the field of cardiology, Priv. Doz. Dr. med. Henning Steen is passionate about cardiac-MRI and explains his passion as follows: "I have been performing cardiac-MRI independently for more than 20 years and see a huge opportunity for a socially relevant topic. Cardiac-MRI examinations offer the opportunity to detect heart failure at an early stage and thus to initiate preventive therapeutic measures much earlier than before."
Cooperatively, medneo and Circle CVI, are able to jointly offer a CMR platform "on-demand” - medneo provides the technical and procedural basis with high-end equipment for imaging procedures while Circle CVI provides the software – cvi42 – for image processing and post-processing.
