For sports enthusiasts - peace of mind for even more fun
Today, most people spend their days sitting down: they drive a car, work at a desk and sit in front of the TV on the sofa in the evening. The resulting lack of exercise can lead to serious health problems such as cardiovascular disorders. Playing sports helps to reduce these health problems. Men and women who have not played sport in a long time and/or are overweight should check how well their musculoskeletal system can cope with the expected challenges before starting sporting activities. Every sport can cause wear on the joints and spine, and not every sport is recommended for those with existing signs of wear and tear in these areas.
Our check-up packages for checking your running ability:
Basic: detailed medical history, MRI of the lumbar spine and both knee joints, discussion of findings, handover of images and medical report.
Advanced: detailed orthopaedic medical history, orthopaedic physical exam, MRI of the lumbar spine and both knee joints, discussion of findings, handover of images and medical report.
Low-risk and radiation-free care.
An MRI scan is one of the most reliable and low-risk diagnostic procedures. Compared to X-rays or CT (computer tomography), the MRI exam creates images using magnetic fields and not through the use of X-rays. This makes the MRI a pain, radiation and side effect-free examination method with high diagnostic significance.
In the modern medneo diagnostics centres you will be looked after and examined in a friendly and competent manner. Our trained staff warmly greet you in our high quality and modern centres. Your time in our waiting lounge will seem shorter thanks to drinks, snacks and magazines. With the latest MRI devices with a 70 cm opening, as well as a feel-good lighting concept in the exam room, we make the examination as comfortable as possible for you.
Please bring to the exam:
- Previous findings
- Previous images
- Surgery reports
- Implant certificates
- Laboratory tests (creatinine)
The examination procedure
After your friendly welcome, taking down of your personal information and explanatory meeting with the radiologist of your choice, you will be prepared for your examination. You will then lie on a special MRI bed and be given headphones to protect against the loud machine noises. These headphones can be used to listen to your favourite music during the examination. You then enter the MRI device.
As soon as you hear the characteristic, loud knocking noises, the device is working and taking images. During this time it is very important that you do not move. There are several short sequences one after the other that all sound different. You will be accompanied by our staff at every stage of the exam and be given precise information on each of the individual exam steps.
The image evaluation
Your radiologist examines the images after the exam. Both the medical report and MRI images are then sent to you or your referring doctor, or to the specialist providing further treatment. Your orthopaedist will then have a final consultation with you. If required, we will gladly refer you to further specialists and provide you with an interpreter during the entire examination and discussion of the findings.
